Enjoying your stay at Elterwater
Every room has en suite facilities, digital satellite TV, coffee and tea making facilities, a hair dryer and ample storage. TV reception cannot be guaranteed and so there is a selection of films on DVD in the lounge and most rooms have a DVD player. Also each room is centrally heated so you can be assured of a comfortable stay whenever you visit.
We have standard house rooms (all first floor) and premier barn rooms which are in the converted barn rooms across the farm yard a few yards from the house. (all have ground floor access).
The rooms most suitable for families are barn rooms 6 The Byre, 8 Low Barn and 9 Grain Store. House rooms are not large enough to accommodate extra beds.
Check in is from 4pm -7.30pm but an alternative time might be possible with prior notice. Please ask on booking .
Please note: rooms 9, 8 and 6 are suitable for dogs and on booking guests are required to state if they are bringing a dog/dogs. Owners are asked to keep them in the porch area and not allow them into the bedrooms or leave them unattended for long periods of time!
We do not charge for dogs, however a £15 deposit per dog will be made on booking and will be refunded after departure. We have unfortunately had a number of incidents of beds being soiled and carpets having to be deep cleaned .

Meal times are relaxed and enjoyable.Our dining room offers stunning views across the valley to the hills beyond , an ideal backdrop to your breakfast.

Lounge and Garden
Outside of meal times there is a comfortable lounge with wonderful views of the garden the fells beyond. Sit and relax watching a large variety of birds, listen to music, read a book or play a board game.
The garden too is a peaceful haven with stunning views to enjoy. A good place to unwind after a day’s walking or sightseeing.
Whatever you choose to do, Elterwater Park is your home for as long as you are a guest and we hope that you will feel comfortable and relaxed during your stay. We always endeavour to offer the highest standards to all our guests.
Please note that Elterwater Park is a totally non-smoking establishment.
Our younger guests are invited to feed the chickens after breakfast and collect the eggs for breakfast the next day. On arrival all our young guests are given a ‘goodie bag’ with some activity and colouring sheets.
Our Conservation Policy
Elterwater Park has uses three 150 meter bore holes. One provides our own freshwater supply via our water purification unit, and the other two provide us with heating through a geothermal heat pump.
